When will my item ship?

We pack and ship orders weekly on Tuesdays. You will receive an email confirmation with tracking to follow your delivery status. Shipments are typically received in 1-3 days from when they are fulfilled. We ship from San Antonio Texas. At this time, we cannot ship to P.O. boxes. 

What are shipping zones?

Our shipping zones are based on discounted pricing through our shipping partners.

What is specialty shipping?

Specialty shipping occurs when there are multiple boxes in an order. We calculate this based on order weight.

Will my item be shipped frozen?

Yes, all of our beef products are shipped frozen. When you receive your package, transfer it to the refrigerator or freezer to avoid thawing. It is possible that a portion of your order may not arrive completely frozen. If the product is warm to the touch, please discard it and contact us immediately. We take food safety and shipping our products very seriously. 

What packaging materials do you use?

We ship in Green Cell foam and enough dry ice to keep the product fresh, cold, and safe from fulfillment to delivery. Manufacturing Green Cell insulation requires 70 percent less energy and produces 80 percent less greenhouse gas emissions than petroleum-based foams. It is backyard compostable, biodegradable, and water-soluble. 

** Do not touch the dry ice with your skin. To dispose of dry ice, place it in a well-ventilated area at room temperature; the remainder of the ice will sublimate away. Never dispose of dry ice in a trash can, chemical waste container or other garbage/waste can. **

How long can I refrigerate or freeze my meat?

We recommend using fresh ground beef or burgers within three days and use whole muscle cuts (steaks and roasts) within one week. It is safe to freeze vacuum-sealed meat for a year or more but the quality will degrade over time. As a rule of thumb, just trust your nose! Twenty minutes after taking your meat out of the vacuum seal take whiff - if it smells sour, don't eat it. If you notice a little browning, which is common on ground beef, don’t be worried, it is just a sign of harmless oxidation. However, any green coloration is an immediate red flag.

How do you handle returns?

Given the perishable nature of the product, we do not accept returns. If there is a problem with your order, contact and we will work to make it right.

Is the plastic on your packaging recyclable?

Check with your local municipality but for most places, you can recycle the plastic wherever you recycle plastic shopping bags. 

But, why use plastic at all?

The USDA has strict criteria when it comes to what packaging materials meat companies are allowed to use. In order to safely package and distribute beef nationally, vacuum-sealed plastic is required to maintain freshness as well as protect our beef from outside contaminants.

Where does your meat come from?

Our beef comes from ranchers in the state of Texas as well as throughout the midwest and northwest parts of the country. Each ranch must strictly follow our protocols and share our passion for sustainability and animal welfare.
